About the Art

To do the work of a serious artist I have had to look inward and be decisive about my goals. I came to this work with a hierarchy of values for living, and I realized that painting requires me to bring these same values to bear: honesty, beauty and perseverance.

Compliance with the opinions of others does not give me what I'm aiming for. Mere defiance is no better. While I must respect the ideals and expression of others, my highest aim is the inner independence to express something wholly my own.
